@theSTUDIO

@theSTUDIO was first set up back in 2016 in St Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight. With just four people in the first mat Pilates class and a maximum of six spaces available. In 2018 the business moved over to Chain Lane, where you will still find us today.

Now with a stronger focus on Pilates and helping to rehab people, eight years later you can still find a timetable of both mat and reformer classes available five days a week.

Sarah is a born and bred Islander, despite her many years of working and travelling abroad.

Growing up working in theatre and dancing from a very young age, movement is something that has always been part of her everyday life.

After years of working in entertainment, Sarah decided to enrol on a Zumba Instructor training day in 2012 while working out in Queensland, Australia. This felt like a natural progression from teaching dance in between jobs. This soon progressed to qualifying as a L2 Exercise to Music Instructor and then onto an NVQ L3 Personal Trainer.

While Sarah loved teaching dance fitness and adult ballet, her years of studying anatomy from college kept her thriving to learn more about how the body worked. She enrolled on a L3 Mat Pilates Diploma, but continued by a large number of CPD training courses focusing on anatomy and physiology, Pilates and rehab. More recently she retrained with globally recognised BASI Pilates in both mat and then completed their comprehensive training programme.

She has a passion for rehabilitation, and continues with her education in this area of injuries and pathologies and studying a clinical Pilates approach.

Other qualifications include 200 hours Yoga teacher in Vinyasa, 10 hour Yoga Nidra and currently working to her further 300 hours teacher training.
